Schedule 1

ACONT is a Schedule 1 Association listed with the TGA, representing qualified Natural Therapies Practitioners of many different ingestive modalities. These modalities include the following:

  • Naturopathy, Naturopathic Consultants
  • Homoeopathy
  • Bioenergetic Medicine
  • Herbal Medicine
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Nutrition - with a natural medicine emphasis
  • Naturopathic Remedial massage, with remedies

and other complementary medicine practitioners.

All suitably qualified Schedule 1 practitioners receive a TGA Advertising Exemption Certificate, which allows them to acquire restricted advertising material concerning Schedule 1 products, and may assist in obtaining Schedule 1 products for their clients.

ABMT (Non Schedule 1 members)

The Magnetic Therapists Association of Australia (MTAA) was absorbed into ACONT in 1996. During 1997 ACONT expanded, forming a new branch called ACONT Magnetic Therapist Branch (AMTB) and in 1999 further expanded to embrace Bioenergetic Medicine, which now is combined as the ACONT Bioenergetic and Magnetic Therapies (ABMT).

The ABMT is a Non-Schedule 1 branch (non-ingestive qualifications), specifically for members who have special interest in Bioenergetic Medicine and Magnetic Therapies. We encompass members who are Practitioners who use these modalities in their clinics, those who manufacture and/or sell related products in their businesses, and those who are either studying, or simply interested in these therapies.

ACONT ADC

ACD (ACONT Devices Council) was officially formed in January 2004 when it was obvious that there was not a credible 'small devices industry body' in Australia to represent complementary medical devices to the TGA and government authorities. Refer to the Information page for current details.
